The Market Research Account Associate will have two primary responsibilities:  the first is to build relationships with and provide ongoing support to automotive aftermarket manufacturer clients.  The Account Associate will provide support to Account Managers by handling some day-to-day client servicing, assist with product development and project management, and help enhance existing products and increase NPD’s perceived value with clients.  The second responsibility is to provide internal assistance to Account Managers with the analysis and reporting of Designated Market Area (DMA) point-of-sale information. 

 

 

Overall Responsibilities:

Ø  Services up to 10 accounts.  Supports senior manager in account management and sales efforts.

Ø  Provides internal support for DMA point-of-sale information by performing ad hoc analysis and tracking.

Ø  Responsible for assembling customized DMA point-of-sale insights based industry trends, current events, and/or client specific topics

Ø  Responds to client requests, utilizing existing databases, data analyses, and industry knowledge.

Ø  Develops a relationship with main contact and key users.  Independently seeks out resources to help resolve client issues.

Ø  Applies questioning techniques to gather information about clients’ needs.

Ø  Revenue accountability

Ø  Co-presents data findings with senior Account Manager at client presentations.

Ø  Takes responsibility for personal development by seeking training, on-the-job experiences, and input from manager.

 

Qualifications:

 

Ø  2-4 years in account management, market research, marketing or equivalent.

Ø  Strong analytical acumen.

Ø  Sound organizational and project management skills.

Ø  Solid selling skills and questioning techniques.

Ø  Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ø  Expert in all MS Office products, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Ø  BA/BS degree or equivalent.

Ø  Automotive aftermarket industry and client knowledge preferred.

Ø  Category management experience preferred.
