Marketing Communications Writer / Desktop Publisher

MorganFranklin Corporation is looking for an experienced business to business writer and desktop publisher to lead aspects of both internal and external written communications. You will work with the marketing team and will be responsible for writing, editing and proofreading a wide range of print and online materials including service descriptions, articles, client alerts, white papers, case studies, ad copy, seminar presentations, proposals, company newsletter and more.
Education & Certifications
The ideal candidate will bring a BA or BS Degree in Journalism, Communications, English or other Liberal Arts degrees. The candidate should be fluent in desktop publishing.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
This position requires superior written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to grasp and interpret complex business and technology concepts and present them in words to specific and general audiences.
Required Abilities:
· Experience writing, editing, proofing and the production of internal and external communications in a business to business environment.
· Ability to distinguish and adapt writing for the various contexts of print and web.
· Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task in fast paced environment including the ability to work on multiple, complex communications projects with deadlines.
· Demonstration of effective coordination and collaboration with others, including internal customers, graphic design professionals and team members.
· Strong secondary research and interviewing skills is very important.
· Strong formatting skills in Word other MS Office programs are essential.
· Ability to develop clear, effective, and persuasive presentations using PowerPoint.
· Prior desktop publishing experience.
· Proven experience in proposal production environment is very important
Job Description
This position is within marketing and supports all external and internal communications efforts. This person will operate as an individual and team contributor in the research, production and delivery of high quality written communications.
· Manages projects and workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
· Responsible for editing and production of printed company newsletter “The Shield.”
· Provides desktop publishing and formatting of written materials as needed.
· Responsible for interviewing subject matter experts for purpose of writing and editing monthly enewsletter.
· Research, write and produce external and internal communication vehicles, including brochures, newsletters, fliers, presentations, advertisements and electronic communications while following appropriate style guidelines.
· Provides assistance with writing and maintaining web copy and other online written materials.
· Work with proposal and capture teams to prepare, format, edit and produce winning proposal content and layouts.
· Works with recruiters to update Careers Web site pages, fliers and other materials related to attracting high-quality talent.
· Conducts internal interviews with subject matter experts to develop white paper concepts, writing and production.
· Research and leadership in the production of case studies and sales qualifications.
· Attends industry conferences as needed to maintain knowledge of trends and relevant subject matter knowledge.

Preferred Experience
· A proven track record with external communications for marketing objectives and internal communications for employee engagement is strongly preferred.
· A minimum of 5 (Five) or more years of written communications experience working in a business to business or professional services environment.
· Familiarity with one or more of the following industries and disciplines is a plus: government contracting, accounting and management consulting, media and telecommunications, homeland security, healthcare, financial services or IT consulting.

· Proficiency in MS Office (especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
