Media Services Manager
Media Services Manager
The MSR Manager provides day-to-day functional management of Media Service Representatives (MSR)s. This is a sales management role, responsible for leading a team of MSRs who sell the execution of manufacturers’ promotions into their retail database and deliver Banner production revenue. MSRs work cross-functionally across all Banner departments to achieve results. This leadership role will work closely with the Director to develop team structure, grow and retain employees and innovate and streamline our business to deliver better service to our customers.
Core Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Establishes and implements daily, weekly and monthly plans for meeting budgeted sales revenue.
a. Manages personnel, workflow and resource needs to meet revenue objectives
b. Provides telephone sales training, including role playing and objection-handling
c. Conducts ongoing team meetings to identify barriers to sales success and provide problem-solving to keep campaign sales efforts on track to meet revenue objectives
2. Provides complete and accurate reporting/visibility to executive team on team performance and revenue forecasts vs. sales goals.
3. Sets specific sales objectives for MSRs.
a. Sets quantifiable objectives for call volume, sales volume and customer satisfaction levels for MSRs.
b. May require hands-on sales calling to ensure team is meeting its sales objectives
c. Accountable for timely, complete and accurate reporting of MSR performance and results. Monitors performance issues, provides timely coaching and executes Performance Plans.
4. Works with Account Managers to ensure appropriate marketing strategies are developed to optimize likelihood of successful campaign sales.
a. Report back to Account Managers on campaign successes, feedback from retailers and work with AMs to develop constructive Action Plans when campaigns are not meeting revenue objectives.
5. Builds team environment and delivers highest standard of customer service across teams.
6. Fosters an environment of continuous improvement looking across team for innovation, best practices and process improvement.
7. Creates employee development plans identifying training and coaching needs to improve skills set of team members.
8. Helps resolve issues providing hands-on assistance to MSRs.
Education and Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in sales/advertising; several years of management experience preferably in an inside sales organization or customer service/call center environment; and experience working in a cross-functional team environment. Employer will consider equivalent combination of education and experience that provides necessary qualifications to successfully perform the duties of the position.
