JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (in priority order):

·  Provides proofreading and editing support to Copywriters and Art Directors.

·  Reviews copy to assure medical accuracy.

·  Reviews sources and bibliography for accuracy.

·  Makes all requested copy edits in a timely manner, observing all deadlines.

·  Ensures that all materials and product released from the Creative department, such as copy decks, comps and mechanicals, have correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, typography and aesthetic appearance.

·  Assist Client Service department with literature searches and document retrieval.

·  Other duties as needed and assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: 

·  Bachelors required in English or Journalism.

·  Must have three years previous medical editing experience.

·  Knowledge of typography, grammar, spelling and punctuation.

·  Mac and PC familiarity, and proficiency in MS Word.

·  Marketing/advertising background a plus.

·  Familiarity with scientific terminology, ACCME guidelines, FDA regulations, journal manuscript submissions and AMA style.

·  Ability to quickly master specifics of assigned accounts and product categories.

·  Strong evaluative and decision-making skills.

·  Provides late-night support to meet deadlines.

·  Flexibility to work irregular hours.
