Mgr Communications Engineering

The Manager - Communications Engineering position is for a senior professional who would be expected to assume responsibility for a network and telecom engineering staff spread across multiples locations in the enterprise. He / She would be responsible for all network/telecom related projects, support and management. They will also be responsible for helping set direction on cross team engineering projects.

THIS POSITION MAY BE LOCATED IN KOP OR CR.

Manage the staff and tasks of the Network/Telecom Engineering team who are responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining the network and telecom equipment in a 7x24 environment. Some travel may be required.
Manage the setup, configuration, installation, and support of systems, applications and related equipment.
Direct the research and analysis of system components and performance.
Be fluent in the architecture and configurations of our network and telecom systems, in order to identify how changes to those systems may impact other systems, our availability, and our customers.
Assist in planning tracking and managing the budget for our network / telecom infrastructure.
Manage network and telecom related Vendor Relationships leveraging our purchasing power, vendor support and future technologies and business needs.

The individual should have a min of 3 – 4 years of engineering and management experience and have the ability to manage a team of engineers in moving forward team’s Goals, Objectives and projects
The position requires strong project management and communication skills along with excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills It also requires the ability to maintain technical documentation relating to server engineering projects.
The individual should also have a broad background in Managing and maintaining networking and telecommunications systems. This specifically includes Cisco Networking and VoIP technologies and Network Management tools.
Management and technical skills involving Yellow Book USA's server environment and other systems and software. Knowledge of Yellow Book USA processes and procedures.
