Candidates must live within 20 miles of John Wayne (Orange County Airport) in Irvine, CA.

The Perfect candidate:
This is not a sales job but the perfect candidate will be profit oriented, knowing that sales and selling are not dirty words. We prefer 1 to 3 years of experience in marketing, doing account research and finding established retail accounts in middle, small sized cities and rural communities across the USA. Characteristics: articulate, friendly but aggressive, relish a challenge, likes to research the competition, prepare and submit quotes, thinks quickly and responds rapidly.
Personal Requirements:
Prefer a BS/BA in business administration or marketing or 1 to 3 years of direct B2B marketing and sales experience in a wholesale for resale environment. Knowledge of the musical instrument business-to-business industry or similar (hobby & crafts, toy store, etc.) is helpful. Must be very proficient with MS Excel and knowledge various data base programs (example: Access, Filmmaker Pro, Crystal Reports, etc.).
Please Note: Applicants are required to have a better than average attendance record and steady job tenure (we do check).
Duties include:
Taking incoming calls from existing and new customers. Working with sales data and sale staff success. Candidates must be willing to participate all aspects of business including but not limited to: marketing, advertising, customer service, taking incoming orders, order entry, catalog research and preparation, account contact and surveys, trade shows, sales meetings, clerical, administration and purchasing. Soliciting sales orders is not required.
Responsibilities include:
Maintain and proof pricing, customer account information and mailing database by reviewing, compiling, formatting and reporting information and materials. The marketing assistant will be required update competitor pricing by inputting data from various catalogs, making phone calls or store visits and then compiling, consolidating, formatting, and summarizing information.
Provide marketing tracking and research information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Prepare weekly inside marketing specials, mail catalogs, flyers, postcards, mailers and brochures, arranging inside and outside printed materials and Internet packages. Maintain marketing catalogs and library by checking and replenishing mailing inventory. Provide marketing tracking and research information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities. Accomplishes marketing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.

We are rapidly growing wholesale distribution company in the musical instrument and accessory industry. The Kay Guitar Company was started in 1890. Our newest division Dealer Direct is looking for quality candidates for the Sales Distribution Division of a 118 year Musical Instrument Manufacturer.
Dealer Direct is a wholesale musical instrument and accessory distributor. We have established product lines that are found in every music store from coast to coast. We sell nationally to music stores from our office and sales staff based in Irvine, California.
We have 3 divisions that manufacture, distribute and design musical instruments and accessories for resale. We do not sell to consumers, musicians or endorses. All sales are for resale. Our growth is astonishing 200% each quarter and we expect to continue that growth for the next 5 to 7 years. About the position:
This is an entry-level full time position and a minimum education level is required. Compensation is based solely on comparable knowledge of marketing experience in a wholesale B-to-B environment, non-related work experience is not considered when establishing a base wage. Base Wage: $12 to $14.50 per hour.
Benefits:
A complete benefit package is available after 90 days equal to 5% of your annual base wage. Your benefits can be allocated to your choice of self directed Health, Disability, Life, Dental, or Retirement Plan. We are strong advocates of continuing education and will reimburse up to 100% of educational expense for business related studies. Hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 5:15 PM with no required overtime or weekend work.
