National Sales Director
Americhip Books, an interactive book company, specializing in light, sound, and pop-up books, has an excellent opportunity for an aggressive and motivated National Sales Director based in our Torrance, California headquarters.The position reports directly to the CEO of Americhip.
Sales Responsibilities:
Demonstrate effective sales techniques by showing a strong product understanding based on a working relationship with leading mass, specialty, club, display, and trade account buyers. Develop a detailed knowledge of Americhip's unique paper engineering and technical capabilities, and find ways to sell these new concepts into leading accounts.Manage key accounts by communicating with customers to share new product information, review planogram, develop promotional sales,Respond to inquiries, and provide product and pricing information.Identify prospective customers and key decision makers. Initiate sales calls and group presentations to prospective customers. Follow opportunities through sales cycle to maximize closed business. Responsible for sales call preparation (gathering material and fact sheets, researching titles and comparative sales); presenting initial lists to buyers and co-op managers; work with production manager to obtain estimates, provide pricing on titles, negotiate deals and pricing; build and maintain customer relationships.Responsible for attending and actively participating in trade shows along with certain national shows. Greet customers at booth, generate preview orders, demo products, answer questions, and conduct workshops. Organize calls to key districts in conjunction with trades show travel. Support sales efforts of rep groups by initiating contact on the phone and at trade shows, conducting training sessions and making joint sales calls and presentations where appropriate.
Sales Team Management Responsibilities:Responsible for creating territory plan for managing all sales initiatives and achieving sales quota in assigned geographic territory. Contribute to the strategic planning and ongoing development of the sales team.Take an active leadership role in mentoring less experienced territory managers.Sourcing, hiring & developing a nationwide commissioned sales force to service specialty markets.Manage the efforts of the Sales team to exceed their Sales Budget. Develop and create sales tools and training to help the Sales team achieve its goals. Interface with the Marketing, Operations, Production, Finance, Account Management, and Senior Management teams.Oversee Sales Analysis, Sales Reporting, Forecasting and Budgeting.
Requirements: Qualified candidate will have 10 plus years experience in children's book publishing and senior level sales and sales management with a proven track record for innovative ideas, cultivating client relationships, achieving sales goals and conquering group objectives.Position requires extensive, frequent travel throughout the country, along with international travel.The candidate must have excellent time-management skills, the ability to think independently, work under pressure, and as part of a team, motivating and utilizing all resources to create a successful and cohesive sales force and sales department. The candidate has exceptional written and verbal communication skills and is flexible, enthusiastic, and has, strong interpersonal skills. Candidate must possess strong analytical and quantitative abilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Power Point
