Job Title: Buyer 

 

Reports To: Network Supervisor or Associate Director

 

Department:  Network 

 

Summary:

 

The Buyer position manages daily account activities and oversees network buys.



Essential Responsibilities:

 

· Manage day-to-day account activities, set specific deadlines for Schedules, Stewardship/Posts and ensure resolution of any billing discrepancies.

· Oversee daily monitoring of network buys to insure delivery in flight.

· Monitor cable and syndicated buys based on audience delivery data.

· Work collaboratively with planners and/or agency/client planning personnel.

· Keep current with media trade press articles.

· Evaluate submissions and negotiate pricing.

· Prepare presentation materials, encompassing all pertinent data on buy, for submission to client.

· Train Assistant Buyers in the following aspects of network buying: media math, Donovan, resolution of billing discrepancies, Stewardship/Posting.

· Develop and maintain Network relationships.

 

Job Specifications:

 

· Bachelor degree in related field or equivalent work experience

· 1 – 3 years of Media experience; Network preferred

· Ability to perform financial operations in the media business

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Proficiency with Microsoft Desktop software, specifically Excel and Word

· Proficiency with Donovan or equivalent Inventory Management system

· Proven problem solving ability

· Ability to be a team player
