Network Engineer

The Network Engineer will work under the direction of the Network Manager to deliver network architecture design, administration, management & support of the company’s Server, Storage and AD Enterprise networks.

 

This Senior Network Engineer position serves as the primary Liaison to the Network Operations Team, and must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects in play at any given time.

 

The Senior Network Engineer must have good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and be a self-starter. The ability to document the network with quality network diagrams.

 

Role Responsibilities Include:

 Active Directory enterprise design and architectureActive Directory enterprise level administrationDesign & Management of  Windows Server OS, Linux OS & VMWareProvide thorough direction on change management for AD environmentManagement & Administration of Xiotech and Hitachi SAN environmentManagement of Fibre switch SAN & BAN NetworkWork with Service Providers troubleshooting AD, SAN, BAN issuesSupport of Windows 2003 Environment of 80+ serversDesign/support of server NIC teaming & load balancingAD, SNMP, DNS & DHCP administration and maintenanceFTP support and maintenanceDocument and update server, AD, Linux, SAN and VMWare network diagramsAssist/Support other network related tasks/requirements as directed by the Network ManagerManagement of Web Hosted Servers and Back-end Applications 

Required Knowledge/Education:Microsoft 2000/2003 Windows Server OSThorough understanding of Enterprise AD Domain TechnologyThorough understanding of Linux OSVMWare ESX 3.x, VMotion, Clustering and HA servicesExtensive Understanding of SAN Fibre TechnologyThorough knowledge of TCP/IPSNMP, DNS & DHCP administration and managementLayer 2 Network Switching SkillsStrong understanding of both WAN/LAN configurationsUnderstanding of Physical/Logical SecurityExperience  working for an in scope SOx EnvironmentExperience working for a Tier 1 Automotive SupplierF5 Load Balancer Administration a plusNetwork Integration of Web Hosted applicationsWindows Web Hosting in IIS 6.0 with some SQL DB experienceWindows Project server & Microsoft SharePoint a plus 

 

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree in computer related field or 7 years of equivalent hands on experience in regards to the above noted skill sets.
