Online Community Manager

Volition, a video game company located in downtown Champaign, IL, has an opening for a Community Manager. This is a full-time, on-site position in Champaign, IL.

The Community Manager will act as the liaison between the internal development team and the online community of fans for new and upcoming video game titles. Using assets and information provided by the development team, the Community Manager will draw on their knowledge of social networks and online marketing to foster and grow enthusiastic end-user communities.

Responsibilities:

Write, edit and post content to blogs and web forumsModerate message boards and live chatsDefine, promote, and manage community eventsMonitor the health of the online communityRepresent the needs of the community to key development personnelTrack performance and create reports on web traffic, community events, and forum activity
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree1-3 years experience working in community management, online journalism, or related fieldDemonstrated professional writing skillsThorough understanding of online viral and grassroots promotion techniques and strategiesPassion for video gamesExperience with Content Management SystemsAbility to develop Drupal plug-ins a plusExperience creating podcasts or similar media a plus
