Online Marketing Manager

Position Overview

 

The Online Marketing Manager is responsible for maximizing traffic growth and new customer acquisition for all assigned web businesses within the F+W Magazine, Books and Ancillary Products divisions. The Customer Acquisition Specialist will develop and guide numerous tactics and best practices designed to increase the traffic and customer data capture to the websites. The Online Marketing Manager will work closely with the Editorial, Book and Event Marketing staff to present and monitor strategies intended to maximize traffic and customer data capture. This position will also be responsible for reporting progress against objectives through metrics, and staff collaboration.

 

The Customer Acquisition Specialist will coordinate with several functional teams within F&W to ensure successful product specifications, testing and launch, both internal and external to Interactive Media.

 

This position reports to the Director of Audience Development.

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

1. Review the performance of all assigned Web sites and email programs to maximize traffic and customer growth

 

2. Implement and manage online marketing programs for assigned Web sites to increase traffic, pageviews and return visitors

 

3. Work with Editors and Interactive Media staff to implement best-practice strategies throughout the organization

 

4.  Implement best practices and project objectives as assigned by Senior Director of Audience Development.

 

5.  Review metrics and site analytics to identify opportunities for new or changed plans to meet acquisition objectives.

 

6. Guide the Editorial staff to ensure continued growth and evolution of online editorial strategy.

 

7. Coordinate with Ad Sales Management to ensure we continue to drive  traffic to areas needed to fill advertising commitments.

 

8. Boost traffic and visibility of online video and other new media initiatives.

 

9. Ensure the email broadcasts adhere to best practices to maximize pageviews and traffic from editorial newsletter content. Identify and implement new opportunities for additional email contacts and frequency.

 

10. Prepare and distribute weekly “summary” report detailing key progress against objectives, upcoming key milestones and description of obstacles/concerns that might prevent achievement of objectives

 

Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to manage multiple projects at a time toward promised completion dates.  Creative problem-solving skills.  Ability to work with stakeholders across multiple departments. Excellent organizational skills.

 

Specialized Skills:

A passion for interactive media and marketing.  Minimum 3 years experience in online consumer direct marketing or e-commerce.  Knowledge of interactive marketing techniques including site, email, paid search and search engine optimization techniques required. 

 

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Marketing or Business or equivalent work experience.

 

Minimal travel required – estimate 4-6 business trips per year.This position may reside in either Cincinnati, OH or Iola, WI.
