As a part-time Assistant Editor based in our Cleveland, OH bureau, you will manage the workflow of the newsroom, ensure all incoming tasks and projects are assigned to the appropriate editor in a timely manner, and you will proofread press releases written by our members for delivery to the media. Although you will not be writing pieces from scratch, a strong grasp of grammar and punctuation as well as a razor-sharp attention to detail will be a necessity. Your ability to think on your feet and prioritize tasks will serve you well in this deadline-driven environment. Our dynamic atmosphere will keep you on your toes; your flexible attitude and strong customer-service approach will be the key to your success. Although a background in a related field is a plus, highly motivated entry-level candidates with a strong interest in journalism will also be considered.
