Platform Manager

Occupation:Enabling Technology Manager Position Summary:The Technical Platform Manager position’s primary responsibility is to direct, manage, and oversee all infrastructure activities, managing an outsource data center hosting vendor • Position is responsible for coordinating, directing and planning technical evaluations of infrastructure hardware and software alternatives and making recommendations • Position is responsible for evaluating financial impacts of infrastructure changes • Coordinate, plan and direct platform infrastructure changes • Monitor and steer hosting vendor for the assigned service line in order to deliver services which meet the business requirements based on defined SLAs. • Perform platform status reporting to communicate platform stability to project sponsors, key stakeholders and IT management. • Monitor, plan and report on capacity and stability analysis, and required changes Essential Functions and Responsibilities: • Hosting Vendor Management. Responsible for technical interactions with hosting vendor to coordinate project and operational activities between Hosting Vendor and Affinion Group. Coordination activities include: • Project assessment and execution for platform infrastructure. • Operational Support. Responsible for coordinating and communicating platform infrastructure operational support activities. This includes: • Problem Management remediation activities. • SLA Management - Analyses vendor performance against SLAs, formulating and implementing recovery plans for gaps identified. • Capacity Planning. Responsible for coordinating, planning, publishing results of infrastructure capacity planning efforts. • Ensure effective coordination of infrastructure with other company functions • Continual evaluation of cost effective solutions through effective system and process analysis • Respond to critical support issues during regular hours and on call • Proven relationship management skills and the ability to rapidly establish and leverage key working relationships with vendors and companion/partnering organizations • Financial Management – Responsible for financial forecast of hosting costs for the platform infrastructure. • Some travel required • Administrative Management. Responsible for project planning and reporting of schedule and costs associated with effort on a weekly basis. Will collaborate with Director on Employee Reviews. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Minimum 7 years experience in role as an Infrastructure or Application Administrator on large transactional systems • 5-7 years designing, implementing and operating mission critical application infrastructure • 2 years managing / working with internal and external data center / hosting providers • ITIL Certification in Service Delivery and Operational areas are a positive • 2 years technical lead /supervisory experience including project planning and estimation • Ability to communicate effectively within the infrastructure team • B.S. in Computer Science or Information Technology Affinion Group offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
