Practice Leader- Competitive Assessment
Together with the Director, the Practice Leader provides leadership and management for Competitive Assessment. The position requires leadership, strategic direction, project and product oversight, budget management, team development, staff coaching and development. The Practice Leader will have responsibility for leading and managing Competitive Assessment projects for both CA regions as well as program-wide. This will include supporting rate-setting, forecasting and target setting at regional and service area levels, and responding to ad hoc requests for information and consulting. The Practice Leader will provide coaching for staff, serve as a technical/professional mentor to the department, and have significant department management responsibilities.LeadershipLeads a team of 3-7 peopleProvides strategic leadership for the department and projects e.g. CA RateSetting, Business Line Strategy Teams.Demonstrates effectiveness at hiring, coaching, and developing staff.Manages transition and change.Manages Unit Budget (Payroll and Non-payroll)CommunicationExcellent communication skills: both oral and written are required.Serves as Competitive Assessment key representative within program.Makes presentations to key KP stakeholders in regions and in Program Office.Manages key relationships across the Kaiser Permanente Program and outside the organization.Team DevelopmentResponsible for hiring, training, performance management, supervision and staff development for team.Responsible for team development, goal setting and relationship management.Project Planning & ExecutionExcellent organization and planning skillsLeads the development of project planning for key team deliverables.Aligns projects and deliverables with KP Marketing strategies.Ensures the development of scopes, timelines, outcomes, budgets, and resources both internal and external, and across teams/departments and prioritizes accordingly.Establishes standards for performance for team.Contributes to assessment and sharing of best practices for team.Provides strategic direction and development of best practices for practice and team.TravelTravel Required (20%).Requirements for this position include a Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Masters degree preferred. 10+ years of experience in health care marketing and planning in a leadership role including coaching, hiring, and evaluating. Unique combination of analytic skills: deep health care industry knowledge, market analysis and research, qualitative and quantitative analysis, exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional organization skills; data retrieval and archiving.
