Product Graphic Designer

Lang Holdings, Inc. (Avalanche Publishing, Turner Licensing, The Lang Companies)  is a rapidly growing ~$100M leader in stationery, calendars, consumer and sports paper products headquartered in Delafield, Wisconsin with satellite office locations in Cypress and Modesto, California. Our customers are leading national accounts, gift/specialty chains, office super-stores, grocery chains as well as book chains, drug chains and regional retailers.

 

The Lang Companies is looking for an experienced Product Graphic Designer to join our creative team. This position will be located in our Delafield, Wisconsin office and will report to the Creative Director.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Work primarily with existing formats and generate new product and packaging formats. Assist in preparing all aspects of artwork and job files for pre-press. Work and maintain files, to include computer, physical, and historical.Provide department coverage to include answering telephones and taking messages. Accurately proofread documentation on behalf of the department.Provide general assistance as necessary to meet deadlines.Expedite the wrapping and packaging of original artwork.Participate in ideation / product development sessions.Ideate and develop marketing collateral.Perform other duties as assigned.Assist Creative Director with projects from concept through completion. Completing jobs by the published deadline. Projects to include: calendars, gift items, sales materials/catalogs, displays/signage Maintain Langs quality standards, keeping a consistent look to all materials Works as part of the creative team on ‘new product development’.Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all job related software, as well as pre-press techniques and file storage.Keep on top of current design trends, as well as trends in the publishing and giftware markets

Job Requirements:

 

Minimum 5 years experience, experience in consumer goods (a plus)

Expert in Mac based computer programs: Quark Express, Illustrator, Photoshop

Good written and verbal communication skills

Highly organized with the ability to work in a fast paced environment

Candidate must present a physical portfolio of their work during interview (not on disc)
