Production Artist

Growing ad agency needs experienced production artist extremely proficient in the following Mac OSX programs: 

• Adobe CS2 Premium (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, GoLive) 

• Quark 

• Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) 

 

Related work experience in either an agency or production facility required. This position is responsible for preparing all files for publication, printing or final production; many of which are delivered as a PDF.  

 

Responsibilities: 

• Preflight and collects files for output/delivery based on supplied production specs

• Photo color correction and manipulation

• Proof for spelling, grammar, text formatting, layout accuracy and consistency 

• Revise existing files (client edits, resizes, etc.) 

• Complete minor layout projects 

• Prepare project boards for client presentations 

• Create collateral comps for clients/printers 

• Conduct press checks 

• Maintain project file archives 

 

Qualities: 

• Must understand all phases of design, layout and production (including output and pre-press preparation) 

• Must have knowledge of color, paper, all printing processes (four-color, PMS, digital) 

• Must be well-organized with good problem-solving skills 

• Must be fast and detail-oriented with a good design sense 

• Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions and changing priorities 

• Must be a team player, possess a strong work ethic and be able to take direction from senior staff
