Associate Program Director
Health Science Communications (HSC)
HSC is a full-service communications company based in New York City providing global medical education services to encompass a product’s lifecycle. Top-line services offered by HSC include message development, gap analyses, strategic planning, publications and program planning and implementation, live events, speakers’ bureau, and much more. We consistently deliver the highest quality of services and products tailored to educate target audiences, enabling them to make informed decisions. Our company provides a wide range of services in health care communications. Our structure ensures all work we do is executed in-house and not subcontracted to third parties. We are organized into 6 divisions:
· Account services—many professionals from industry who understand client needs
· Scientific services—over 25 MDs and PhDs who guide our scientific knowledge
· Creative and interactive services—award-winning talents who make each project outstanding
· Event planning—a group of Certified Meeting Planners with many years of experience
· Speakers bureau and registration/recruitment—experts in customer service
· Support services (traffic, word processing, production)—our dedicated behind-the-scenes group
Description
The associate program director will coordinate the development and production of medical education tactics; working closely with PD on account (live events/meetings, Promotional programs, Speakers Bureau, enduring materials, etc.). The associate PD will also service multiple brand accounts and assist in the creation of brand tactical plan.
Responsibility
Professional:Understands science of brands and therapeutic class categoriesKnowledge of brands’ annual goal and objectivesParticipates in client teleconferences and in-person meetingsServes as secondary client contactSupports team leader in creation of tactical plan and financial estimates
Program Coordination/Account Management:Manages the development and production of assigned communication tacticsCommunicate and coordinate with internal departments and traffic the development of program elementsExternal correspondence associated with tactical development and coordinationArticulate and defend POA for tactical recommendations
o Responsible for regularly scheduled client status report update and submissionEstablishes relationships with opinion leaders, their officesAssists in the management of client estimates and updates for assigned tacticsIdentifies and compiles research data from IMS, MedLine, and disease-specific web sitesMaximizes exposure and refines experience in implementing a variety of medical education tactics, develops client service skills and brand/account management skills
HSC:Operational knowledge of scientific, promotional med ed, interactive, and strategic offerings of HSCInteracts with external vendors for obtaining price quotes and expanding armamentarium of possible client offeringsUnderstands and upholds company’s mission and values
Milestones to Achieve for AdvancementAssumes mastery of objectives, milestones and responsibilities of assistant PDMaster implementation of broad range of medical tacticsImplements at least one (1) promotional activity from needs identification through certificate fulfillmentProvide narrative support for medical communication tactical plan in support of brand commercial objectivesUnderstands ACCME guidelines and internal policy and proceduresPresent a 20-minute presentation on the science behind brands and therapeutic class categories, including introductory brand marketing, clinical strategies, and planEstimated time required in position to achieve skills to advance: 12-18 months

EducationDegree in life science or liberal arts, marketing or communications with a strong appreciation for medical science writing and interest in pharmaceutical marketing
