Public Relations Account Executive

KGBTexas is one of South Texas largest public relations and advertising agencies, and was recently voted one of the San Antonio Business Journal's "Best Places to Work."  Our Houston office is current looking for a dynamic, innovative, energetic public relations professional who can develop and lead highlevel strategic public relations and branding campaigns.

 Public Relations Account Executive

 

The successful candidate will serve as the agency’s primary client contact for assigned accounts and implement client public relations goals, strategies and tactics. The candidate will oversee the development and implementation of public relations campaigns and plans; create and execute client events; oversee and manage media relations; develop press materials, presentations, speaking remarks and other similar materials. The professional in this leadership role will manage junior support staff in the implementation of public relations strategies and general account service.

Other key responsibilities include:

· Creating overall strategic plans for national, regional and/or local implementation.

· Overseeing national & regional public relations efforts.

· Managing account teams.

· Managing client expectations regarding budget and account work.

· Aggressively supervising budgets through weekly and monthly reviews.

· Overseeing the preparation and distribution of client communication materials.

· Managing media relations through fostering relationships, pitching stories, developing and managing targeted media lists, and monitoring for media coverage.

· Supporting KGB’s senior leadership team in crisis communications efforts.

· Supporting new business development activities and pro-bono account work as needed.

· Developing and fostering community relations awareness through liaising with chambers of commerce, city officials, area business councils and other appropriate groups and contacts.

· Coordinating with KGB’s marketing department in the development of marketing collateral and other appropriate materials.

 

Qualifications:

 

· Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related field.

· 7-15 years professional experience in public relations, marketing or communications.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Agency experience preferred. Financial services, B2B and/or oil and gas industry experience a plus.

· Working in a fast-paced environment a plus.

· General business marketing experience a plus.
