Public Relations Account Manager
Harrison & Shriftman, one of the top luxury publicity, special events and marketing companies in the US is hiring! We build brands in the fashion, lifestyle, film, publishing and entertainment industries in NYC, LA & Miami, and we are looking for a shining star to join our Miami office. PR job responsibilities will include:
-produce year long public relations plans, strategies & timelines
-write, assemble and distribute communication materials including media coverage reports, press releases, status reports, agendas, etc.
-maintain & enhance relationships with long-lead, short-lead and broadcast outlets to facilitate story placements and exclusives
Activities typically include, but are not limited to:
A) media relations
-draft media alerts, press releases, pitches, gossip items and other press materials
-develop a contact list of long and short-lead, national and regional editors, reporters, columnists and producers at lifestyle, travel, entertainment and gossip outlets
-proactively pursue press coverage and publicity for all clients on a regular, ongoing basis
-secure scans of clips in a timely manner to share with clients
-maintain updates for clients
B) client relations
-work with team members and on your own to respond to client request in a timely manner
-track clients' coverage in the press (specifically through monitoring google and facitva daily and sending relevant articles to team as they appear; working with VMS to monitor broadcast and ordering segments as appropriate)
-reinforce client objectives and establish/follow-through on timelines
C) internal relations
-monitor and keep up to date with magazines, newspapers, trade journals, blogs and other media relevant to clients and industry
-maintain up-to-date media lists/ACT database
-work with team to brainstorm fresh and creative ideas for existing and new clients
D) marketing initiatives
-create marketing plans, strategy, decks, proposals and timelines
-put together strategic alliances with likeminded brands
-manage and execute sponsorship entitlements for clients
E) additional responsibilities
-managing junior staff to create structure, growth and accountability in the office
-work with junior team to grow skill sets in events like event production (includes being able to manage guest lists, mailings, event budgets, coordinate small events)
-ensure that Miami office is fully integrating with NY & LA offices
Requirements:
-strong media contacts with national and regional fashion, real estate and design editors
-a proven track record for working with media across all platforms
-excellent written communication skills
-strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
-proven ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
-ability to articulate and express themselves clearly and concisely
-be a creative thinker
-agency experience a must
