Summary:
Job Title: Inventory Planner
Reports To: Inventory Planning Manager
The Inventory Planner is responsible for managing and replenishing the inventory of a key product category for all sales channels: retail, catalog and web in order to improve inventory turns, in-stock, guest service, sales and margins.
Job Responsibilities:
· Plans, replenishes and allocates inventory for the assigned product category to retail stores, catalog and web.
· Helps manage open-to-buy of the assigned product category.
· Achieves inventory turns and in-stock objectives.
· Identifies, plans and executes effective product lifecycle management in partnership with merchants, sales channels and vendors.
· Indentifies unproductive inventories (i.e., discontinued, excess, etc.) and works with merchants and the sales channels to sell through these inventories in a timely manner.
· Works with merchants and store operations to analyze and profile store assortments and improve assortment productivity.
· Works with vendor community to ensure vendor compliance of PO delivery.
· Communicate with vendors, warehouse, logistics department and stores to ensure timely delivery of products.
· Helps the accounting department resolve any invoicing discrepancies.
Essential Requirements and Qualifications:
· Commitment to superb Guest Service
· 3-5 years work experience in retail planning, buying or merchandising
· Proven analytical and problem solving abilities
· Business knowledge of retail inventory management, merchandising concepts and operations
· Excellent written and verbal communications skills; ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
· Computer literate, proficient on PC based applications to include Microsoft Excel
· Bachelor’s degree in retail, marketing or finance preferred
