Regional Hospital Services Specialist
Position Summary: The Regional Hospital Services Specialist is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing customized organ and tissue donation programs at assigned hospitals. This position is responsible for assisting the department in professional program development and implementation. This position will be based out of Eastern Washington.
General Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains all referral and approach procedures at assigned hospital accounts. This includes trained designated requestor programs. Analyzes hospital accounts utilizing medical record reviews, referral tracking tool, and donor statistics. From this analysis, develops customized marketing plans for assigned hospitals including short and long-term objectives and action plans to meet them. Provides direct support to hospitals and clinical staff by assisting during cases and referrals. Establishes and maintain relationships with key individuals within assigned hospitals and other key healthcare partners (Medical Examiners, Nursing Schools, etc.) Assists all hospital accounts with JCAHO, CMS, FDA, State and Federal Laws and UNOS requirements related to organ and tissue donation. This includes providing direct support to assigned hospitals specific to need including, educational programs, nursing staff and physician training, and establishing and updating donor policies and procedures. Assists in creating and updating professional educational materials.
Other Responsibilities: The general responsibilities are not inclusive. The Hospital Services Specialist will follow other instructions/directions and will perform other related duties as required by the needs of the company and the Management Team.
Supervision: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; in marketing, communications, business or a related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for academic requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences. Good presentation skills are necessary. Highly organized and analytical and is able to present information to others in a clear and concise format. Outstanding ability to analyze and assess situations, create solutions to problems and motivate others. Proactive team player. Always willing to be the first to step in to help others. This individual must demonstrate operating knowledge of computers with a demonstrable, intermediate level skill (at a minimum) with email, Word, Excel, and other comparable software programs. This position may require the ability to operate specialized equipment, such as audio-visual equipment.
Key Requirements:
Travel is essential to this position; must be prepared to travel by automobile and airplane. Requires the manual dexterity sufficient to effectively operate phones, computers, and other office equipment. Generally, working conditions do not require exposure to hazardous materials nor extremes in health and safety hazards. Work is normally performed in an office or hospital setting as well as other business environments. The employee is required to lift 35 pounds. Requires a valid driver’s license and access to an ensured automobile or the ability to arrive and depart from work and work related functions at expected times.
**Because of the nature of this position the incumbent may need to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, sometimes without advance notice.
