This individual's chief purpose is to drive portfolio sales and business strategies through the use of customer/brand/retail focused databases and data assets. Focus, in this role, is at the customer and shopper level and requires: 1) an understanding of what our customers value, 2) an understanding of what the shopper values, and 3) a level of comfort and effectiveness that drives collaboration and breaks down artificial silos.Key Accountabilities: Ability to translate information needs with varying levels of complexity into business/research objectives and leverage databases and data assets to address these objectives Ability to translate insights into clear actions for internal marketing and sales teams and external customers Design and create compelling, clear, and concise presentations for senior management and external key clients Present learning, insights, and recommendations in a manner than exudes confidence, demonstrates a high level of subject matter expertise and upholds the professional standards of this customer's Insights Work closely and cooperatively with internal cross-functional teams and channel customers Keep apprised of brand insights, retail industry and consumer trends and use this knowledge to educate marketing and sales teams and the channel customers Analyze IRI, AC Nielsen, dunnhumby, Spectra, and other data sources to determine effect of product, pricing, packaging, and promotional initiatives on consumer behaviorKey Skills/Competencies Required: Bachelor's Degree, Advanced Degree preferred 5+ years relevant marketing research experience with Retail and/or Packaged Goods company 3+ years designing, conducting, and interpreting primary research required 3+ years experience working with dunnhumby, Spectra, IRI or Nielsen data preferred Must be a big picture thinker with the ability to prioritize and discern what level of detail is required Position requires an individual with a collaborative nature and strong presentation and communication skills; Needs to be comfortable with tailoring and presenting complex ideas simply and effectively based on audience whether high level internal clients or functions with varying degrees of analysis expertiseClient Description: Taste the success...One of the world's most successful consumer product companies with 153,000 employees and $32 Billion in revenues has a contract-to-hire Research Specialist opening.
