Retail Sales Manager

Develop and execute a business development strategy to assure that Herman Miller for the Home meets or exceeds financial goals for revenue and margin. Lead team of sales, customer service and order entry specialists to exceed sales goals in a manner that enhances Herman Miller brand, balances risk among external business partners, and fosters an environment of professional development and fun.Essential Functions° Develop profitable, successful, brand-enhancing retail distribution for all Herman Miller for the Home products. ° Identify, evaluate and engage retailers to market and sell Herman Miller, Inc. products into the consumer marketplace via the retail distribution channel. ° Develop awareness and respect for Herman Miller designs among our customers/retailers/retail sales people for Herman Miller for the Home products, programs, and services. ° Identify and execute promotional initiatives that will generate sales of Home products and ensure the achievement of our business goals. ° Manage the termination of under-performing retailers. ° Motivate and inspire team members to perform at peak levels. ° Performs additional responsibilities as requested.Minimum Requirements° Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales and or Marketing, or equivalent experience in Marketing. ° 10 years marketing and/or sales related experience. ° Exhibits a risk taking posture with an entrepreneurial spirit. ° Customer-focused, such that each action/strategy considers impact on client/consumer. ° A team player with distribution management abilities. ° Strong communication skills both written and interpersonal. ° Creative program/communication development experience. ° Ability to evaluate the potential success of various marketing methods and willingness to take risks on new ideas. ° Strong identification with HMI core values. ° Work with cross-functional teams to ensure effective and timely project completion. ° Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools currently being used in the HMI office environment. ° Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodationsTo visit our career site,and apply today! www.hermanmiller.com/careers Since 1946, Spherion has been helping talented individuals find rewarding job opportunities that drive excellence in their career.
