RI COMMUNICATIONS GROUP (www.ricg.com) specializes in multi-channel personalized communications (digital print/direct mail, web, interactive, email, mobile) and marketing campaigns & systems. Our world-class 33,000 sq foot facility is located in midtown Manhattan. We have a Fortune 500 client base and are regarded as an industry leader in personalized communication services. We have immediate positions available in our Technology Solutions Department. We are actively seeking a Solutions Analyst.

The primary duty of the Solutions Analyst is to provide expertise in the definition, adoption and adherence to architecture strategies, processes and standards. In this highly versatile, the Solutions Analyst delivers application architecture, technical/ infrastructure architecture for new and modified systems. Works in conjunction with, or with guidance and input from, the CTO. Acts as Solutions Analyst subject matter expert. Reports directly to the CTO.


PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

· Evaluates users requests for new or modified systems to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current systems and technical capabilities.

· Formulates plan outlining steps required to develop system, using structured analysis and design.

· Plans, develops, tests, and documents systems, applying knowledge of programming techniques and computer systems.

· Prepares flowcharts and diagrams to illustrate sequence of steps system must follow and to describe logical operations involved.

· Consults with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify system objectives and requirements.

· Works with clients and staff to conceive and implement technology solutions.

· Designs system GUI to accomplish system goals based upon user input.

· Converts project specifications, using flowcharts and diagrams, into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps to be provided to the development team, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages.

· Consults with system developers to determine system feasibility and technical approach.

· Writes documentation to describe system development, logic, coding, and corrections.

· Writes documentation for users, describing system operating procedures.

· Trains users to use system.

· Provide technical assistance to system users.

· Assists users to solve operating problems.

· Recreates steps taken by user to locate source problem and passes information to the development team for correction.

· Monitors performance of system after implementation. Analyzes, reviews, and devises alterations to system to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.

· Operates across multiple projects simultaneously and assume responsibility for the appropriate architecture and technical implementation of projects.

· Conducts technical project reviews.

· Quality checks at every step involved in the project in accordance with the other departments.

· Adapts to new technologies, work under tight deadlines and ensure project accomplishment.

· 

Education and Experience:



·  Experience in delivery solutions systems solutions to clients, including database implementation, consolidation, and application integration with emphasis on Web Services.

·  Proficient on both Mac and Windows platforms.

·  6 plus years experience in a structured technical environment.

·  BS Degree, technical certification or equivalent experience in a structured technical environment.



Technical:


·  Architecture experience in N-tiered systems.

·  Experience with software development methodologies (Agile, Software Development Life Cycle)

·  Relational / object database implementation & integration.

·  Internet / legacy system / client-server architectures.

·  Expertise including but not limited to the following technologies: ASP.NET, VB.NET, ColdFusion, SQL. XML, Java.
