Job Purpose

The Search Marketing Manager is responsible for managing and growing our PPC marketing program.  The professional we seek must be proactive, with a strong sense of accountability and a focus on bottom-line results in managing and optimizing paid search campaigns.  This role requires:  stellar analytical skills, strong campaign management abilities and the confidence to make and adjust decisions quickly.  The Search Marketing Manager will work closely with the VP of Marketing, SEO team and third party agencies and optimization technology providers.  This person will work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to achieve department, company and personal goals.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·  Define, structure, and manage the search marketing function.

·  Analyze daily performance and optimize spend based on results to maximize ROI.

·  Oversee, optimize and manage SEM campaigns using internal and external resources.

·  Define, train and disseminate “best practices” in terms of effective campaign management and optimization techniques, media mix and metrics and other technologies, methods and protocols.

·  Forecast campaign performance and volume based on evolving set of companywide metrics.

·  Work closely with publishers, networks and other partners to build rapport and maintain good relations.

·  Responsible for accurate tracking and reporting of marketing spend and ROI.

·  Play a variety of other roles inside the company as needed.

 

Qualifications & Skills

·  Expert in paid search marketing across all major channels including:  Google, Yahoo and MSN.

·  Strong analytical, mathematical, decision-making and problem solving skills and abilities.

·  Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

·  Thorough understanding of website optimization techniques and website visitor behavior; experience with testing methodologies and web analytics tools.

·  Establish and maintain effective working relationships with managers and employees and partners or customers.

·  Possess strong leadership, communication (both verbal and written), and customer service skills, and exchange information with others clearly and concisely.

·  Ability to publicly present ideas, share information, and foster dialogue that furthers the learning and growth of knowledge within department.

·  Thorough knowledge of new technologies and industry trends.

·  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and comfort with web based competitive intelligence tools

·  Must be able to multi-task and work with a variety of internal teams.

 

Education & Experience

·  Education Requirement: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from recognizable university.

·  Experience Requirement: 2+ years of relevant search marketing experience.
