Senior Account Executive, Public Affairs

Porter Novelli, a global public relations company, has an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Account Executive to join the Washington, DC office’s Public Affairs team.

 

Responsibilities

·  Plan and manage projects, including national media tours and special events, with little oversight

·  Successfully pitch and develop relationships with print, broadcast and online media

·  Read, analyze and understand scientific papers and/or clinical trial data

·  Prepare and proofread client-ready materials, including collateral, press releases, correspondence and presentations

·  Track and manage client budgets

·  Successfully interact with clients and collaborate with other PN offices on a regular basis

·  Oversee and coordinate daily reports of media coverage on clients’ issues

·  Participate in brainstorming sessions and new business proposal preparation

·  This position reports to a Vice President

 

Qualifications

·  Minimum 4 years experience in public relations agency or related experience

·  Strong pharmaceutical and issues management experience REQUIRED

·  Strong account management experience, including project budgeting

·  Ability to analyze and understand scientific and/or technical material

·  Existing relationships with pharmaceutical, financial and general business media a plus

·  Demonstrated ability to work successfully in teams and manage others as needed

·  Experience and poise in front of clients

·  Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills

·  Bachelor’s degree in public relations, business, communications or related field
