Description:ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Applications Programmer Analyst will create, execute, and troubleshoot scripts in Windows and UNIX environments. Create and modify batch job stream using defined change control process. Deploy scripts to production using a defined release process.Perform server file maintenance and create metric charts for keeping departmental scorecards.Ensure that client SLAs are met. Attend daily operations turnover meetings and attend weekly release meetings. Strong communication and attention to detail is essential.This individual will handle high stress situations and must maintain a calm and cool exposure, think rationally, and solve problems in such situations. The success of the candidate will require a strong sense of urgency which requires high energy levels and ability to react quickly and decisively.About the OpportunityThe Senior Applications Programmer Analyst will have a key role in the organization, configuration, setup, planning, and day to day support of production and non-production systems. In addition, this individual will provide general application and file transfer support of production jobs on a 24x7 basis.Working with a team of others, this individual will be responsible for day to day operations of one or more Utility billing systems and related back office applications, including setup, execution, and monitoring of various system components. The individual will also be responsible for identification of areas of the operations that can be automated / improved, the creation and execution of scripts and/or programs that will automate the identified process(s). Experience with creating, modifying, and deploying scripts using various software languages is required. Ability to participate in an on-call rotation is required. This professional position is expected to handle additional tasks as assigned by the manager.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in MIS or Computer Science5-8 years of experience as a programmer analyst or administrative role in a mission critical / production environment.Strong working knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and be able create and modify SQL queries as well as experience with Perl, Control-M, Windows Scripting,.NET, Crystal Reports, and Unix scripting. Familiar with checking in source code into versioning software and ability to deploy software in a secure environment.
