Senior Business Manager

One of the largest image creation and sign manufacturing companies in the nation is looking for a Senior Business Manager. This individual will provide overall leadership to grow and manage business in the assigned market.

 JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Develops a comprehensive understanding of the market, its strategic direction, and the business opportunities. Develops a growth plan for the market and implements actions to achieve these long-range objectives. Identifies opportunities for business growth and increased profitability in the assigned market.

·  Develops and achieves the annual operating plan for the business unit; develops quarterly forecasts; reports on progress toward these plans.

·  Ensures organizational objectives relating to customer service are achieved, including reduced lead times, on-time delivery, and effective customer communications and follow-up. Focuses the organization on critical objectives and measurables and ensures follow-up and corrective action as needed.

·  Works in partnership with Sales to understand customer needs and future plans and ensures resources and priorities to meet these needs. Participates in customer interaction and sales presentations as required.

·  Coordinates with other company organizations to maximize overall corporate performance.

·  Ensures a highly effective organization and a satisfying working environment for unit employees. Develops an effective organizational structure staffed with qualified individuals; builds a high-performing, motivated team with minimal turnover; develops and communicates organizational objectives, priorities, and progress; develops a mutually-beneficial relationship with the union; provides guidance, coaching, and performance feedback to direct reports.

·  Provides leadership and support on other assignments and projects as required.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

·  BS in business or a related field. An MBA or other advanced management training would be very helpful.

·  At least eight years of increasing management experience in a general management role or in a series of roles in varied business functions (e.g. marketing, customer service, engineering, project management, finance, or manufacturing). Experience in a manufacturing organization or a service organization producing a customized product or service for major national customers is preferred. Experience in the assigned market would be extremely helpful.

·  Demonstrated success in a fast-paced organization with multiple, rapidly changing priorities.

·  Strong marketing and strategic planning background.

·  Strong financial management skills and understanding.

·  Strong customer orientation. Previous experience interacting with customers required.

·  Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with customers; internal organizations such as Sales, Operations, and Finance; management peers; and direct reports.

·  Exceptional leadership skills. Must have demonstrated ability to build a team and stimulate high performance from a team--skills in inspiring employees and focusing them on key objectives are especially important. Must be able to effectively manage a flat organization.

·  Ability and willingness to manage strategic and operational activities requiring a high level of detail.

·  Strong general understanding of information systems technology and business/manufacturing applications. Should also have strong personal computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, electronic mail).

·  Demonstrated customer service orientation.

·  Strong, mature and confident, with a high degree of personal motivation and energy. Pro-active.

·  Must provide strong leadership, communication, problem solving, and team skills.
