Description:ResponsibilitiesGeneral Statement of Duties: Responsible for growing and cultivating client relationships and managing large and/or multiple accounts. Sells Alliance Data products and services. Develops marketing programs around Account Management plans to increase sales. Serves as a key market differentiator for Alliance Data through the acquisition and application of intricate industry, market, and client knowledge. Coordinates with internal Alliance teams to develop value added programs to meet the needs of the client and participates in the proactive development of innovative solutions to client business needs, sometimes based on needs the client has yet to identify. Provides strategic expertise to client executives on all aspects of data marketing, payments solutions, and customer loyalty. May manage internal account team members providing direction, coaching and development opportunities. Develops and enhances relationships with internal partners via account management practices and is involved in leading internal account management teams.Supervision Received: Reports to Director, Client Sales.Supervision Exercised: May have 1-3 direct reports, including Managers and Coordinators. Examples of Duties:Develops the account management business plan and activities calendar based on processes around needs assessment and program ideation. Manages account team to ensure the account management business plan and activities developed are being carried forward on time and as planned.Manages process to utilize business analysis reporting and key measures to identify opportunities for growth. Transforms business information and data into Critical Few Initiatives (CFIs) via the account management process by building a foundational business case for each initiative. Conducts new idea generation activities during the appropriate stage of the account management process to create new activities around each CFI.Creates opportunities for cross-selling Alliance Data products and solutions and builds a business case for the client. Reviews and participates in discussions to recommend appropriate pricing for products and services. Leads client negotiation discussions based on analysis and recommendations from account planning. Gains understanding of clients business and its needs and is influential and creative in providing solutions. Takes time to research, read, brainstorm and review competitor information to gain full understanding of client. Partners with Marketing Liaison team to review business intelligence around the client, competitors, and marketplace on a daily basis. Provides strategic direction for meetings between key client contacts and Alliance Data to discuss marketing plans, sell new products, resolve open issues and provide progress updates. Establishes rapport with client base and ensures meetings with all levels of client organization occur on a regular basis. Communicates regularly via telephone, email, and in person at on-site meetings and various events. Prepares and presents client presentations based on research, client deliverables and proactive analysis on recommendations for marketing programs.Oversees design and development of marketing programs that deliver value and works toward successfully meeting the agreed upon goals for each critical initiative. Adjust strategy to increase effectiveness of programs based on performance. Assemble key pieces of client knowledge for internal contract team and provides regular marketing reconciliation. Manages addition of new clients, including partnering with Program Management team to ensure execution of new ideas for credit collateral, leading goals for reissues, change in terms notifications, and pre-approved mailings. Establishes goals and oversees training to ensure needs are being met. ResponsibilitiesQualifications:Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of multi-product marketing concepts and principles. Knowledge of marketing concepts and principles (segmentation, offer strategies, testing strategy, seasonal planning, email, multi-channel marketing concepts). Basic knowledge of how to review data that includes analysis based on statistical methods such as regression, CHAID, cluster, time-series, and other advanced statistical concepts. Strong analytical skills and familiarity with budgeting and business analysis. Professional demeanor with superior interpersonal and (verbal and written) communication skills, including the ability to influence others and be a strong negotiator. Demonstrated leadership qualities and skills to lead a team and provide direction. Ability to work independently with little supervision and serve as a leader and representative of Alliance Data. Ability to interact with senior management and executives. Excellent project/time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Proven ability to build and manage internal and external relationships. Ability to provide excellent customer service to a variety of individuals on all organizational levels. Ability to facilitate effective group presentations/discussions. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Aptitude for detail and accuracy. Ability to research and analyze data. Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment. Ability to understand core business capabilities and construct new solutions/products based on those capabilities. Up to 40% travel required, including overnight stays.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent education/and or related experience. Experience: Seven years experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations or strong related credit experience. Two years supervisory experience. Desirable: Detailed understanding of credit related systems, retail, and proprietary credit card practices. Specific credit-related sales experience.
