Senior Education Director - Medical Education, CME Programs
Major Role Summary: The Senior Education Director role encompasses complete management and implementation of multiple CME programs that may be in one or more therapeutic areas. It is the Senior Education Director's responsibility to develop and coordinate medical educational programs in a variety of media that may include video, print, symposia, exhibits, interactive media, all varieties of meetings, etc. His or her primary responsibilities are to ensure the production of the highest quality of work and to maximize the growth of the CME business in the respective COE/s therapeutic areas. In carrying out these responsibilities, the Senior Education Director will work in conjunction with the COE Senior Team Leader and medical staff (medical directors, medical writers and editors) to strategize, target and develop educational grants in his/her respective COE Team. He/she will also work with creative staff (art directors, computer graphics support personnel), meetings management, as well as the traffic coordinator, etc. He or she may also manage associate education directors as appropriate. The Senior Education Director will have contact with and manage the relationship of faculty, CME providers, associations, as well as any number of other educational partners and outside vendors within his/her COE structure. Travel is required. Responsibilities : · Develop and coordinate CME medical education programs, serving as liaison between the grantor (as appropriate), the ACCME-accredited provider and the expert faculty, managing and supervising all relative relationships, overall program development, content development, implementation, production and coordination of all outside vendors· Manage comprehensive evaluation and outcomes measurement processes of all appropriate initiatives to ensure all program objectives are met· Work in conjunction with medical director to strategize, target and set the direction of content development in order to meet all program objectives· Work in conjunction with medical directors to identify and recruit faculty, researching the appropriate therapeutic area (if appropriate), making contacts, and securing participation, as appropriate· Ensure compliance with ACCME Essential Areas and Standards for Commercial Support; must possess knowledge of ACCME, OIG, FDA and PhRMA guidelines in conjunction with CME activities · Coordinate internal processes, working with editorial and art staff to secure copy and layout of top creative quality and in accordance with program needs· Develop budgets and estimates for all educational programs· Track all budgets against approved estimates; responsible for maintenance and management of productivity as it relates to assigned billable hours including completion of timesheets, review and monitoring of status with appropriate Team Leader, etc. · Develop support staff, working with junior staff members to help them grow towards greater responsibility· Develop and manage business plan for procuring new grant business in existing (and new if appropriate) therapeutic areas Skills/Knowledge· College graduate· 5+ years industry experience· Excellent verbal, communication and presentation skills· Clinical and/or marketing skills· Broad therapeutic category knowledge· Project management and people management skills· Knowledge of diverse healthcare issues (clinical, pharmacoeconomic, social, etc.)· Computer skills (Powerpoint, Word and other major programs a plus) Please email resume to: recruit2.shhr@sudler.com, reference Sr. Education Director in the subject line.
