Senior Financial Analyst

Senior Financial Analyst opening in New York. Lead the process of financial data compilation, report preparation, analysis and commentary for one or more Business Units. This role directly supports the Business Partners, Business Unit Managers and SVP Finance. Duties include the following: Preparation of timely and accurate analysis of results highlighting issues for management resolution on a regular and ad hoc basis using advanced analytical, technical and presentation skills including: comparison of actual results against budget, forecast and prior year actual results with commentary highlighting of issues for management resolution; profitability of products and reinsurance treaties; profitability of distribution channels. Strong knowledge of GAAP, SAP, state and federal laws and/or cash management, banking environments and investment applications and accounting. Strong knowledge of workflows and internal accounting controls. Ability to assist in the development and execution of financial and strategic plans within corporate standards, policies and procedures. Strong knowledge of the industry and internal business operations. Strong decision-making, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal skills and knowledge of and ability to develop relationships with other functional areas (i.e., actuarial, legal, systems, etc.) and external business contacts. BA/BS in a financial discipline with progress toward a professional finance certification preferred (i.e., CPA, CFA, etc.). Minimum 7-8 years of finance-related experience.
