The successful candidate for this position will be able to provide user experience design guidance and presentational code for multiple Web application and Web site development teams. The candidate will not only be able to communicate corporate standards in the design of applications but also be able to distill the experiences of actual development to influence the future of those standards.QualificationsRequired skills: -- Candidate must possess the interviewing/research skills necessary to gather workflow and domain information from disparate technical subject matter experts and translate that information into design prototypes.-- Candidate must be able to act as a User Advocate, putting themselves in the role of a user of the system being designed. Must be comfortable speaking up in group and one-on-one situations to raise issues of workflow and design. -- Candidate must be able to balance corporate and user requirements to conceive conceptual design solutions as well as physical design solutions for applications; i.e., information architecture, navigation schemes or metaphors, workflow, and interactions.-- Candidate must be able to manage and produce iterations quickly in a fast-paced development environment. -- Candidate must understand and have experience in implementing the recommendations of the W3C in relation to HTML as a structural language rather than a presentational one. The candidate must be familiar with HTML code and must be able to evaluate development problems in collaboration with programmers. -- Candidate must be comfortable with the use of Cascading Style Sheets to maximize the efficiency and maintainability of application and site code.-- Candidate must be familiar with common uses of JavaScript as a tool to enhance the user experience behavior of application screens.-- Candidate will be expected to work with development team members at multiple levels to enhance user experience and insure common interfaces and conventions between projects, and be able to do this in an environment which requires both assertiveness and flexibility.Desired by not required: -- The ability to modify and maintain standard images in tools such as Photoshop.
