Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager partners with the account management team to manage and exceed expectations of external and internal customers while overseeing and leading all aspects of multiple, large CRM, DRM, and interactive development projects. Primary responsibilities include project scoping, estimating, planning, budgeting, reporting, team management, risk identification and mitigation, new business development and customer relationship management.
Responsibilities
Project Management Methodologies, Practices and Processes Leads, oversees and validates planning efforts for multiple or large projects including estimating, resource allocation, identification of tasks, activities, artifacts, and deliverable milestones as well as the documentation of the resulting plan. Manages a group of projects ensuring all are on time, within scope and on budget.
Identifies areas of potential risk, identifies and implements risk mitigation strategies on all assigned projects. Creates timely, accurate and thorough project documentation for each assigned project.
Client Relationship ManagementWorks with project managers to understand and manage expectations of both internal and external clients at the project level. Serves as escalation point for project issues that impact the client. Works with all stakeholders to understand issues and identify and collaborate on resolution options. Leads client kick off and status meetings and participates in scoping meetings. Communicates meeting objectives to project management, ensuring efficient scheduling and documentation. Develops and provides status reports and PMO reports to the client and account management, as appropriate.
Business Development Identifies opportunities, and works with account management to develop and present pitches/proposals to new and existing clients. Works with account team to understand customer goals and objectives. Coordinates with project management team to accurately document scope of deliverables comprising solution to meet customer’s goals and objectives. Partners with account management to lead and manage and estimate efforts to respond to RFPs, business pitches and presentations. Includes attendance and participation in new opportunity meetings, identification of strategic and tactical options and communication of progress, risk, and variance to Management.
Leadership & Team ManagementReviews and offers feedback on all project management work product, artifacts and deliverables within assigned projects. Partners with operations to ensure quality execution and delivery of solutions through optimized workload distribution. Contributes to and participates in the development of Practice and other team members through coaching, mentoring, training, and on-boarding tasks.
RequirementsBA/BS or equivalent experience, advanced degree a plus; 5+ years experience managing Web-based projects and project activities including prioritizing, budgeting, estimating, process implementation; with proven history of successful completion of multiple projects. PMP certification a plus. Comfortable and effective in complex project environments, and working with both long-range and short-term business objectives. Experienced working within an advertising agency environment, skilled at client management and familiar with marketing communications strategy and processes including online media, direct marketing and Web site development Well-organized, detail-oriented, energetic, proactive, independent and responsive to feedback; Significantly skilled with MS Office applications; strong interpersonal capabilities and excellent oral and written communication skills.
