Senior Property Pricing Actuary
Senior Property Pricing Actuary opening in New York. Act as an actuarial and financial model consultant to clients, brokers, and markets: assessing reinsurance structures from an actuarial prospective, monitoring industry developments, researching and responding to information requests, providing timely and accurate service. Responsibilities: model the probability distributions of the gross/ceded/net underwriting results of an insurance company client based on an actuarial analysis of frequency and severity focusing on a large losses; analyze how the distribution of results and relevant risk measures change as a result of application on various proposed reinsurance alternatives; utilize cost/benefit analysis to advise brokers and clients "optimal" reinsurance programs based on risk tolerance level; evaluate historical experience of treaties for use in negotiation of renewals and commutations; support efforts in market creation and other projects requiring actuarial expertise (e.g., cat exposure modeling); manage expenses, time, services, etc. in order to maximize profits; respond to client queries and concerns, resolving issues promptly; establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues; document all external correspondence and telephone conversations in accordance with procedures, including where appropriate, Professional Standards guidelines minimizing the potential for errors and omissions; participate in the revenue/budget process; lead a team of actuaries to ensure proper training; assign clear duties and guidelines, monitor progress and provide performance feedback; propose recommendations on hiring, salary, disciplinary action, etc. Broad knowledge of world reinsurance markets to comprehend range of products necessary to address insurers financial needs. Strong technical expertise in reinsurance experience and exposure ratings, loss distributions, reinsurance terms and conditions, and simulation modeling; with data management, financial reinsurance, risk management, catastrophe modeling & ERM expertise desirable. ACAS/FCAS with at least 10 years of actuarial and/or insurance industry experience including 10 years of relevant experience in reinsurance and/or consulting. Salary $Open.
