Senior Strategic Planner - Medical Education, Rx Pharmaceutical Advertising

Summary:The Senior Strategic Planner leads strategic marketing teams to develop overall marking perspective and recommendations for clients.  Based upon medical, brand, industry and managed markets insights, develop cogent strategic assessments for various channels within assigned new business opportunities as well as existing clientele.  Duties:•Synthesize all data sources into actionable relevant strategic recommendations.•Translate strategic recommendations into meaningful, measurable tactical development and implementation plans. •Communicate strategic insights and tactical recommendations to the client in a clear, actionable format.•Represent the agency – in conjunction with assigned account teams – in client meetings as appropriate.•Operates as a fully integrated member of the client team.•Participate, on a day-to-day basis, with internal agency account teams on the development and management of client projects and deliverables.•Coordinate with the account team to determine the best route of client communications for all projects.•Monitor ongoing market and competitive activities for assigned clients to proactively identify new opportunities and challenges.•Coordinate the functional expertise and assets of the strategic planning department on behalf of assigned clients.•Proactively discuss the resource needs of client projects to ensure proper allocation of people, expertise and resource.•Flexibly lead, co-lead or be a team member as required  Skills/Knowledge:•Significant experience (7-12 years) as a director in a strategic marketing capacity in areas such as Pharmaceutical Marketing and Product development, Global Marketing.  •Experience working in multiple therapeutic areas•Expertise in multiple channels including Commercial, Government (Medicare, Federal, DoD, VA, State, Medicaid), Long-term Care, Trade (pharmacy) and/or Employer channels•Must fully understand the dynamics of managed markets sales & account management, formulary access, contracting, brand-pull-through, disease state management, and patient compliance & persistency•Ability to understand/apply scientific and medical data•Must be familiar with common market research techniques •Agency experience a plus•MBA and/or a scientific degree a plusWe offer a competitive salary and a generous, comprehensive benefit plan including a dollar for dollar match on the first 5% of 401K contributions, stock options, a pension plan, educational benefits for children, and up to $6,000/year tuition reimbursement.
