Description:ResponsibilitiesExamples of Duties: (Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the listed examples include all that may be found in this job.)- Utilizes appropriate accounting theory and principles to analyze data and recommend the resulting tax treatment while understanding impact to the business. - Researches, analyzes, and utilizes applicable tax information to review related tax returns. - Gathers information to prepare or review estimated tax payment calculations and vouchers. - Reviews/Prepares FAS 109 tax calculations.- Reviews monthly general ledger tax account reconciliations. Monitors tax due dates to ensure timely filing. - Reviews monthly tax provision. - Reviews/prepares state tax apportionment data. - Assists with audits and notices received from various taxing authorities as needed. - Participates in tax planning and budgeting.- Assists with integration of new acquisitions.- Assists with property tax returns as needed.- Participates in training and supervising of staff.- Reviews state annual reports. - Assists with tax department special projects.- Supervision Received: Reports to department director. - Supervision Exercised: Some supervision exercised.About the OpportunityUtilizes appropriate accounting theory and principles to analyze data and recommend the resulting tax treatment while understanding impact to the business. Knowledge of tax laws, resulting treatment and impact to the business. Very strong analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Proficient in Excel. Ability to exercise judgment on tax treatment and general business issues. Ability to develop conclusions founded on reason, logic and interpretation. Ability to interact with a variety of individuals on all organizational levels. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Ability to determine priorities and meet critical deadlines. Ability to research, summarize, evaluate, and interpret data. Ability to maintain confidential information. Aptitude for detail and accuracy. Minimum Qualifications:Education: Bachelor degree in AccountingExperience: 3 years public accounting or large corporate tax environment required.
