Software Developer - Access/VB/SQL

Summary: 

SignAd Outdoor Advertising is seeking a full-time permanent position Software Developer well experienced in Access/VBA/SQL Server to join the IT staff at their Houston Heights North Loop 610 location.

 

Potential employee would be responsible for design, testing and implementation of the company-wide specialized sales/leasing/accounting system which is in the end process of conversion from a legacy system and initial stages of  backend data upsizing to SQL Server or similar enterprise data management system, upgrading of client interfaces to the latest technologies, and maintenance of existing systems.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Initially perform maintenance/enhancements/beta testing on existing applications by working with users to troubleshoot and correct problems.  Once familiar with the style and conventions, develop new applications not present on the legacy system.

 

Required Qualifications: 

In addition to good communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as with others, candidate must have:

 

3+ years work experience programming with Microsoft Access (2000+)

3+ years work experience programming with Visual Basic / DAO / SQL

3+ years work experience in SQL Server or similar enterprise system

Experience with Visual Source Safe, VBScript

 

Additional Desired Qualifications (but not required):

General Accounting principles

VB.NET, ASP.NET

 

Education and Experience:

4 year degree or relevant work experience

3+ years related work experience

Strong analytical skills

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications

Accounting experience preferred, but not required
