Sr. Accountant

Senior Accountant:

 

Expectations: 

Will be expected to work at an accelerated pace and complete projects with a high degree of accuracy by the expected deadlines.  This might require certain amounts of overtime. It is expected that employees communicate efficiently and effectively with co-workers as well as outside agencies.

 

Position Responsibilities:

·   Preparing and analyzing financial statements.

·   Participating in monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities.

·   Posting monthly adjusting journal entries.

·   Completing complex general ledger reconciliations for the company’s Corporate office and subsidiaries.

·   Assisting with preparing and analyzing departmental budgets.

·   Coordinating with external auditors for yearly audit process, including internal control reviews.

·   Assisting with preparation of internal and external financial reporting package on a quarterly basis.

·   Preparing the quarterly price test work for various companies.

·   Assisting with preparation of tax filings including state and federal filings, sales/use tax and income tax filings.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

 

·   Must have completed a college accounting program and have a general knowledge of financial statement issues.

·   Minimum of four years of experience in financial statement preparation and a solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

·   Must be able to manage multiple assignments and priorities with attention to detail.

·   Required to have high ethical standards and be able to work with confidential information.

·   Must know Excel, Word, and 10 key by touch.

·   Excellent communication skills.

·   Must be organized, self-motivated and a team player.

·   Strong work ethic.

·   Footwear industry experience a plus.
