Sr. Communications Specialist

Join our Communications team as a communicator supporting the Wyle Aerospace Group Director of Communications in coordinating internal and external corporate communications. Work with internal functional, operational and Aerospace Group leadership teams to produce and manage messaging  and content for newsletters, intranets and Internet sites and other electronic media; coordinate and/or cover company and community events; provide copyediting and photography support; and assist in preparing materials for public release. Some travel may be required.

Education:
A Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, information systems management or related field is required. Post-secondary course work combined with relevant experience or four (4) years of relevant experience in addition to experience requirement may be substituted for degree.

Experience:
Four (4) or more years of practical experience in communications or a related field is required.  The capacity to manage and prioritize multiple time sensitive tasks simultaneously and experience writing in Associated Press style is a must.  .  Experience working with graphics and layout software such as Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign and Illustrator is also a plus.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
A positive attitude, a desire to excel and superior interpersonal and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to effectively work independently and as part of a diverse team in a dynamic, fast-paced professional environment.  Familiarity with media relations, copyright law and industry public release best practices is highly desired.  Knowledge of the aerospace industry, government contracting environment and military public affairs processes is a plus.
