Sr. Director Accounting

Occupation:Accounting Director The Senior Director of Corporate Accounting will be responsible for the proper recording and reporting of transactions associated with corporate items associated with the North American Business operations of Affinion Group. This position will also support initiatives such as Sox compliance, external and internal audit inquiries, tax, treasury and other financial needs of the business. Duties include but are not limited to: Manages the timely preparation of monthly and quarterly consolidated and consolidating financial statements in accordance with United States generally accepted accounting principles. Manages and leads the Corporate Accounting department personnel. Lead effort to re-engineer and further consolidate multi-company chart of accounts to a North American view. Oversight of Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and corresponding account analysis. Oversight and management of the Monthly financial close process and the related calendar. Custodian of the company’s accounting policies and procedures associated with corporate activity, responsible for keeping them current from the perspectives of scope and content, that they are accessible to all who must adhere to them, and that the accounting staff and others who must be in adherence with them are trained in their application. Lead day-to-day contact with the company’s independent registered public accounting firm, keeping them advised of company developments, reviewing the treatment of accounting transactions, preparing memoranda on accounting judgments, facilitating the annual and interim audit cycles and responding to their requests. Maintain, review and document the company’s internal control over financial transactions, and assists in coordinating control testing with the Internal Audit and SOX function. Coordinates treasury and tax accounting with the corporate Treasury and Tax groups. Supports the development of consistent, fact—based decision-making across the company. Responsible for the oversight of the Monthly Balance Sheet forecast process. Provide analytical support to Senior Management to enhance decision-making process. Other Special Projects as warranted by the business. Requirements Education and Experience: BA/BS Degree in Accounting with CPA certification required7-10 years working for a public accounting firm and/or corporate accounting department with strong technical accounting and reporting skills. This position requires a demonstrated leadership presence/visibility and management experience. This position also requires outstanding analytical capabilities and excellent communication skills. This position requires the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
