Sr. Director Process Improvement
OVERVIEWThe Sr. Director of Process Improvement and Integration is an important role within Affinion Group. This position will be a key member of an international marketing company, responsible for leading due diligence and integration planning for potential acquisitions, as well as identifying and managing improvement opportunities for key cross functional business initiatives. Under the direction of the SVP of Process Improvement & Purchasing, this position will plan and manage projects related to: M&A opportunities, including diligence and synergy analyses; improving processes through increasing quality, decreasing cost and cycle times; and process control assessments. A. Duties and Responsibilities: Participate as a key member/leader of an acquisition due diligence team, including as liaison with key members of an acquisition target company. Identify synergy opportunities for potential acquisitions, and work with internal business experts to identify business risks and validate key assumptions. Assist with the identification and definition of potential projects and process improvement opportunities. Review operational, financial, and technology processes to provide management with an assessment of business risk, internal controls, and the overall effectiveness and efficiency of a process. Propose recommendations and utilize best practices to improve processes with a focus on control efficiency. Work closely with business partners to obtain buy in and assist the business in implementing proposed changes. Interview and facilitate discussions with business owners and subject matter experts to gain a detailed understanding of business processes. Manage the evaluation and testing of business processes and business controls, as well as the identification of areas of risk. Ensure sound project management methods are applied to key initiatives throughout the company. Provide regular updates to project sponsors, senior leaders, and others, as appropriate. Compile and review ad-hoc detailed financial, resource and performance information for key projects and processes. Build strong relationships with cross functional team members and project sponsors. B. Skills and Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree preferred but not required. Experience in conducting acquisition due diligence, including identifying synergy opportunities and key risks. Demonstrated project management experience; Six Sigma experience a plus. Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work in a team environment, and to promote cooperation among cross-functional disciplines. Goal and results oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment. Ability to foster a close working relationship with team members and management. Strong financial, analytical, planning, problem-solving and organizational skills. Strong sense of ownership and high level of accountability. Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
