Description
Assessment & Development Provide analysis of training, educational, and individual development needs, using an organizational, leadership, and/or career development focus. Implementations may include training, communications, and consultation on a variety of leadership and individual development topics. Provide consultation to managers and employees utilizing appropriate assessment & development tools, i.e., selection assessment, 360 degree feedback instruments, and/ or career development assessments. Provide group and individual coaching on career and/or development planning.
Design, Development, & Delivery Design, develop and deliver professional development training programs and tools with a particular focus on leadership, career development, and Valassis core competenices. Manage training projects or HR initiatives. Work with HR and other training partners on delivery strategies for the field locations. Identify internal/external trends and best practices related to career and leadership development that help drive company objectives and create strategic advantage.
Performance Management & Succession Planning Provide training and support for enterprise-wide performance management process. Work with vendor and IT on online software to maintain system and educate HR partners, managers and associates on functionality. Support the Succession & Talent Planning process of current and future managers & supervisors at all organizational levels, providing development of the talent pool, management and tracking of individual development plans, internal promotional and cross-functional rotational management assignments.
Organization & Team Development Manage a variety of organizational development initiatives and interventions which include, but are not limited to, team development, change management, diversity & inclusion, and career development. Incumbent is also responsible for supporting the implementation of various human resource policies & procedures. Implementations may include training, communication, and consultation on a variety of applications such as sexual harassment and progressive discipline.
New Leader Onboarding & Development Develop and implement strategies for orienting new first line leaders in the first 90 days of hire or promotion. Align management curriculum and tools (e.g., website) to support the transition into a new leader role. Work with field HR partners to ensure consistent practices across the company. Manage core leader programs. Required Skills
Bachelors degree required. Masters degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development or a related discipline preferred. Minimum of 7 years of business experience required successfully developing, delivering, implementing, and evaluating professional and leadership development programs, preferably in a corporate environment. In depth understanding of career and leadership development. Development experience incorporating adult learning concepts, instructional design methodologies, and strong facilitation skills that result in interesting, engaging and relevant programs. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with HR colleagues and business partners across the company. Ability to think strategically and work in complex fast paced changing environment to support company integration. Strong project management experience, i.e., planning, organizing skills and prioritizing multiple projects/tasks. Systems/technical orientation to work with vendor software Strong written, oral, and listening communications skills.
