Trade Publicist - fuse

Description-

The Trade Publicist assists with supporting the Public Relations department in publicity efforts generating awareness for the network’s brand, original programming, campaigns, content distribution, advertising sales, digital media and events to achieve company goals. Writes trade publicity materials and pitches select projects to local trade and media. Assists in the execution of strategic plans to promote and praise awareness for the network’s on-air programming, executives and marketing campaigns. Supports planning of presentations, panels, conferences, screenings and parties and develops internal and external distribution of publicity materials. Maintains lists of industry conferences and awards, and submits speaker proposals on behalf of Fuse executives and talent. Supports content distribution with local market affiliate relations media support; crafting and pitching publicity plans. Responsible for the daily press efforts including maintenance of media database and press files, distribution of clip packets and status reports, and gathering of materials and supplies such as art, exec bios and trade show press kits. Supports trade publicity efforts for projects that promote synergy between MSG and Fuse. Participates in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications-

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field with two to three years of experience in media relations, preferably in cable trade publicity. Will be able to create media relations plans and materials to successfully acquire regular media coverage. Will have a strong understanding of telecommunications/cable industry. Must be able to demonstrate success in developing ongoing relationships with key members of the trade and business media with a familiarity with cable trade publications and key reporters. Must be a self-starter possessing excellent problem solving and strategic thinking skills and be able to manage many disparate projects simultaneously. Will be a team player with the ability to multi-task and work effectively in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment. Will have excellent writing, editing and communication skills and have the ability to develop good working relationships internally and externally. Will be creative while maintaining consistency with the Fuse brand. Must be computer proficient and flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays as necessary.
