We work in a high-interest, evolving medium which merges architecture, graphics and technology to create never-before-seen public and private installations for some of the world's leading brands. Our work is known around the world for being on the cutting edge of alternative media and we need key individuals to contribute to the development and growth of our practice.

We are currently looking to fill a critical leadership position in our New York headquarters. The VP, Managing Director will be responsible for both helping to define the overall strategic direction of our New York operation and then leading this exceptional group of professional toward successful project our comes and profitability. We are seeking a “thinker and doer” who enjoys rolling up their selves and getting involved in all aspects of defining, leading and growing a boutique agency.

The ideal candidate will have 8-10 years of proven experience in managing a mid-size operation with accountabilities for all functional areas in the business of staffing and delivering creative solutions that incorporate technology, new media, still and motion-graphics and other mixed-media programs.

The VP, Managing Director will be a part of our senior leadership team, reporting to the company’s President.

Key Responsibilities include:
Articulate company goals, culture and strategic direction to the staff.Motivate the staff and engender optimal performance from all contributors.Develop a “playbook” for knowledge management and standard operating procedures. Focus as a hands-on manager of the production, technology and support staffs.Coordinate closely with the VP Sales around new business projects. Set financial targets and manage costs associated with business operationsOversee office P&L Create deep rolodex of contract resources and manage staffing and work flowHire and management the performance of all staff Ensure proper and effective internal and client communications Drive quality assurance and on-time delivery Increase the “bandwidth” over time. Increase the firm’s capacity to design, produce and deliver on work for clients. Contribute as a member of a senior management team and as such:  implement project reviews and performance management systems.upgrade staff and staffing systems and procedures including hiring, on-boarding, employee development and appraisals.develop quality standards and a process for measuring and monitoring.

The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
Professional approach to management and supervision. •    Good communicator, and able to help others communicate well. Entrepreneurial and flexible, possessing a high level of emotional intelligence. High standards for the quality of their own work, and the ability to clarify and implement high standards among the workforce. Able to capture the existing work processes of the firm and to improve on them. Expertise in resource planning and management. Naturally motivates individuals and leads teams – engendering loyalty among the employees.A team player who fosters team work at all levels and among all levels.

Qualified candidates will possess a combination of experiences including but not limited to:
Demonstrated success as a senior leader in an entrepreneurial and growing company. Experience serving clients by managing projects that have creative and technical elements. Experience implementing systems of accountability and control in an operational environment. Measurable successes in scaling a business including procedures and infrastructure to support expansion into multiple locations.
Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred. Must have experience in leadership roles in one or more of the following environments: advertising or media, architecture specifically for entertainment properties, industrial design and product innovation, interactive agencies, software development for content or media environments.
