Vice President, Healthcare Communications

Fleishman-Hillard’s Minneapolis office has an immediate opening for a seasoned healthcare public relations manager with a range of healthcare industry experience. The position provides an opportunity for the selected candidate to play a key role as a leader of major healthcare accounts. This individual will face a broad array of challenges including corporate reputation management, strategic counsel and managing media relations for clients ranging from medical technology and device companies, to payers and providers, to associations and pharmaceutical companies. Responsibilities Responsibilities include building client relationships, bringing to bear a wide range of agency services and capabilities on client challenges, and directing programs from proposal to completion. Candidate will be expected to manage clients, manage staff, develop and manage budgets and business plans, have strong media skills and relationships, lead strategic planning initiatives, and ensure profitability. Will lead regular account planning meetings and new business presentations. Qualifications • The ideal candidate has a minimum of 10 years of communications experience with healthcare and/or med tech clients, preferably with experience working at a PR agency. • The candidate will have successfully managed a wide variety of projects and have a proven track record of counseling clients on top trends and opportunities within the healthcare industry. • A proven ability to manage agency teams with budgets exceeding $1 million, prioritize multiple projects/accounts, manage staff, client relationships, and deliver results is desired. • Must be an effective writer with the ability to understand complex technical information and to communicate it to non-technical audiences. • Ability to provide strategic thinking across brand groups to create programs that bring added value and synergy to the brand • Must have excellent credentials in media relations and in issues management. • Must be skilled in writing strategic plans and other written materials, making presentations, and confidently providing communications counsel to C-level executives. • Ability to work in client environment on occasionFleishman-Hillard’s reputation for quality, creativity, and results is the foundation of our distinguished status in the industry.
