Web Communication Specialist

NASM's full-time Web Communications Specialist is based in Mesa, AZ and works as part of a team to use web-based resources as a strategic communications tools to support the organization’s marketing goals.

Responsibilities

1) Regularly update, maintain and improve NASM websites. This includes: Managing existing NASM website content Posting new content on a daily basis to maintain an evolving high profile web presence Integrating social networking and other person-to-person elements to engage our members online Writing content for the web as needed Continually improving and enhancing site templates within web-based Ektron content management system (CMS) Tracking web statistics and preparing periodic reports; analyzing data and implementing site changes to improve user experience Redesigning websites utilizing best practices Monitoring NASM and web/online communications trends Assisting in creating a seamless content flow between NASM's print publications and websites.

2) Email marketing: plan, develop and launch targeted and effective email marketing campaigns. This involves: Developing tools for keeping members informed of new site content and new developments Developing creative strategies to grow our list of member emails Developing and coordinating online advocacy campaigns with a team Initiating site-related emails, tracking and analyzing their effectiveness

3) Other duties as assigned, which may include: Working with vendors as needed

Qualifications At least 2 years experience in web design Advanced knowledge of HTML, familiarity with JavaScript, CSS, Flash, Dreamweaver Experience with ExactTarget or a comparable email marketing tool Experience with site redesign Experience creating and delivering multimedia content Experience with web-based social marketing tools Excellent writing and design skills Team player who's comfortable in a shared work environment Ability to work well with a team under the pressure of tight deadlines A commitment to health and fitness principles
