Dog Star Media is a marketing and media company that specializes in design for cosmetic surgeons and cosmetic dentists.  We are headquartered in Dallas, Texas and we work with an elite client base of medical and dental professionals and professional services across the US and abroad.

 

At Dog Star Media, you’ll work on a variety of interesting and innovative projects including Flash web design, video production, html web design, print production, advertising design, campaign concepts and identity packaging.

 

Dog Star Media has an immediate opening for a bright and self-motivated design professional looking for a career opportunity.  We seek a candidate who will help keep our business growing with their energy, intelligence and experience. The ability to work accurately and rapidly in a growing business environment is vital.

 

Currently, we have a position available for a Web Designer.  We expect the successful candidate to contribute immediately to the design and technical production of our existing sites.  This is a hands-on design position and may require some limited travel to client sites and occasional off-site work. Recent college graduates welcome.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

• Design and program Flash and Flash Video web sites.

• Develop concepts and present client-appropriate ideas.

• Create user-centered designs including interfaces, navigation, layout and artwork.

• Produce HTML, Flash and interactive content for static and dynamic delivery

• Remain dialed into latest technical capabilities in Flash web development

• Work collaboratively with design co-workers and clients.

• Take interest in information architecture and technology considerations as they pertain to or affect design possibilities.

• Participate in strategy discussions and contribute ideas to fuel our growth.

 

Requirements include:

 

• In-depth experience with the Adobe and Macromedia suites  of web and video products. Advanced Flash ActionScript skills and PHP is a primary requirement.

• An outstanding design portfolio of interactive projects (please include sample URLs) that demonstrates video, HTML/CSS websites, and fully functional Flash-based media (such as fully Flash driven websites, demos, tours, etc.).

• A demonstrated understanding of video post-production, copy/design integration, typography and interactive interface design.

• Experience in creative and conceptual problem-solving.

• Must be creative, comfortable learning and using new technologies, able to work on multiple projects at one time, possess strong client interaction skills, and work well within a collaborative team environment.

• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in web design and Flash media projects with preferred agency experience.

• Educational background in a related field, such as advertising, graphic design, publishing, fine arts, multimedia, film, architecture or equivalent work experience.

• Experience in FinalCutPro Studio and interest in video production is a plus.
