Work both on a solo basis as well as in a team.Essential Functions:• Work with clients to design and develop their new web sites.• May create new pages and images for exiting client sites.• Work with clients on redesigns of existing client sites.• Coordinates overall site design implementation with creative staff and clients to match desired outcome.Qualifications:1. Bachelor’s degree in multimedia studies, communications, visual art or computer information systems.2. 3 – 4+ years of experience designing and developing commercial web sites.3. Demonstrated understanding of the web development life cycle.4. Solid hand coding HTML skills using a text editor such as Home Site, BBEdit or NotePad – including tables, frames and forms. (Dreamweaver exp. a plus)5. Solid PhotoShop skills – ability to create graphics for web use (headers, buttons, backgrounds, animates gifs) and ability to modify exiting graphics.6. Strong client relations’ skills.7. Experience using ASP and JavaScript in creating dynamically driven web sites.8. Strong project management skills to juggle multiple on-going projects.Required Skills:1. Solid understanding of cross-browser/cross-platform issues.2. Experience with cascading style sheets, JavaScript, DHTML, and ASP are a plus.3. Experience with Macromedia Flash, Macromedia Fireworks or Adobe Image Ready are a plus.4. Strong Photoshop Skills – ability to create graphics for web use (headers, buttons, backgrounds, animates gifs and ability to modify exiting graphics.5. Excellent attention to detail, oral and written communications.6. Must be able to interface with both technical and non-technical staff both internally and externally.7. Portfolio of 5 –10 commercial web sites with explanations of each project and the work done for each.Software Required:HomeSite, Dreamweaver, PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash, Image Ready, Fireworks Desired Skills:This position description is meant to describe the general nature of duties related to this position.
