WEB DEVELOPER

Job Description
Designs, implements, maintains, and optimizes internal and external web pages and applications. This position will focus on utilizing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experience to maximize visibility on common search engines. Converts documents into HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) or other complex programming language. Determines user's needs, strategies, and goals and develops web pages that meet those needs.

Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, operation, and optimization of the company web sites and assures that all web pages comply with appropriate policies, guidelines, and standards. Coordinates web functions, monitors web activities, incorporates new technologies into the web site, and enhances existing web sites.

 QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 1 years experience in web design/development or equivalent experienceSearch Engine Optimization (SEO) knowledge is a plus.Experience with Websphere. Java, HTML, and JSPExperience in Video and FlashExperience in Java application developmentLinux experience helpfulEnthusiasm for web technologyThoroughness and an eye for detailExceptional intelligenceIntegrity, courtesy and professionalismExcellent communications skillsThe ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


 

Job FunctionsCoordinates and consults with (person or department) to establish priorities for web-site development and to plan, review, and evaluate the company websiteCreate new websites. Maintain, update, and optimize existing web sites as necessary using IBM Websphere/Java, HTML, Java Script and other similar programming languagesDevelop web page infrastructure and utilize applications to ensure technical performance and assess new technologies for applicability to company needsEnsure compliance with legal requirements and company policies on web site usage, security and standardsConsult with various departments in designing, developing, optimizing and maintaining web pages
