That’s why we exist as a company, and we never lose sight of that fact. The roleThe Web Developer must have a passion for creating great interactive web sites/applications. You will be responsible for applying CSS/XHTML, AJAX, and Web 2.0 techniques to an array of client specific projects. This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be working with Account Executives, User Experience Designers, Visual Designers, Copywriters and Backend Engineers. The Web developer must possess development skills across a range of technologies including: CSS, HTML/XHTML/WAP AJAX/JavaScript XML/XSLT W3C DOM methods and properties Responsibilities: Develop optimized/cross-platform front-end code in CSS/XHTML, JavaScript, and AJAX. Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate interactive concepts Produce and maintain clean, high quality, standards compliant code. Create templates based on graphical designs that adhere to design specification documents, conform to user interface style guides, follow brand guidelines and meet established usability standards. Implement cross-browser/cross-platform UI compatibility and troubleshoot associated issues. Maintain cutting edge knowledge of current and emerging technologies, industry trends and standards including, but not limited to, modern web browser capabilities, compatibility issues and behavior related to the use of different DOCTYPE declarations, character encoding, W3C standards compliance and accessibility issues. Work in close coordination with the Graphic Design and User Experience Teams to ensure that implementation is done in accordance to design specifications and that design specifications accommodate realistic technical parameters and constraints. Work in conjunction with other members of the Development Team to ensure successful implementation and integration of presentation tier with other tiers in multi-tier web-based applications and communicate technical parameters and constraints to relevant teams. Qualifications: 3+ years experience launching interactive web sites/applications, with the last 2 years focused in implementing consumer web UI. Technical mastery of client side web user interface development technologies including JavaScript, HTML/XHTML, CSS, DHTML and AJAX (ability to hand-code a must). Experience coding within a web template system or application framework including a working knowledge of each layer's uniqueness and the interaction between them. Knowledge of cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility including knowledge of and ability to solve common associated issues as well as investigate and troubleshoot complex inconsistencies. General UI background (Information architecture, site flow, accessibility, browser capabilities, etc.) Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills. Experience with UNIX, Linux or equivalent system. Good written and oral communication skills, and ability to work either independently or within a team environment. Desirable Skills/Knowledge Experience with fast UI prototyping, rapid iterations, agile web development. Have professional experience with Restful, RPC, SOAP, and Service oriented architectures Experience with the Drupal CMS Framework Knowledge of server side web frameworks such as PHP, JSP or ASP.NET are a plus.
